The Blood War

(working title)

Introduction

The Blood War is a roleplaying game about the eternal struggle between the forces of Good and Evil.
This map will go into another direction than the traditional RPG map.
Traditionally, you get a group of 'regular' heroes doing 'regular' quests in a 'generic' world. None of that here.
Players will be involved in the events that take place in the different realms of the afterlife.

Features?

I'm not going to bore you with a long list of typical features. Every RPG has a save/load system, every rpg has tons of quests.
Boring. There's nothing new here, except that it's going to be awesome.

Positions


A lot of work has been done already on the area of triggering and system design. Now I'm mostly looking for content providers.

JASS:
'Name'          'Task'

Kevlamin        Units / Items

General Requirements

  • Use World Edit Newgen (exception can be made for writers)
  • Able to follow the design documents I've prepared
  • Able to communicate
  • Able to regularly update. It's only human to lose interest in a project, but at least tell me so I can look for a replacement.

Terrain Editor

  • Create terrains that at least meet, and hopefully surpass my own terraining skills
  • Create Destructibles & Doodads in the object editor
  • Able to use both the cliff and the hill tool. Cliffs can look good if you know what you're doing.
  • Achieve high detail with low doodad usage.
  • Imports are allowed, but get the maximum out of standard models.

Spell Designer

  • Spells must be multi-player compatible. Multi-unit spells are a bonus.
  • vJass is prefered. Vexorian's XE library can be used as a base.
    Well, anything can be used as a base, but try to stick to 1 library. The codebase is large enough as it is already.
  • Know when to use triggers and when to use abilities. No need to program a stun ability when Storm Bolt suffices

Object Editor(s)

  • Item Editor: Able to create and balance items.
  • Ability Editor: Able to create and balance abilities
  • Unit Editor: Able to create and balance units. Preferably combined with ability editor

Writer

  • Decent English writing skills
  • Create workable lore (item descriptions, quests, flavour text, story)
  • Base the lore off the concept work I've already done.
  • Using World Edit Newgen to contributing directly to the map is not required, but it would be a good thing though.

Artists

Currently, art is not at a high priority. Loading screens or minimap can be done later.
If you're interested in making high quality models or icons you can still apply.

What I'm not looking for:
  • Beta Testers
  • System Designers
  • Idea Creators (Anyone in the team can provide ideas)
