Techpriest Soundset (Original!)

This bundle is marked as pending. It has not been reviewed by a staff member yet.
Idk if anyone else is still making 40k maps but if you are then here's a pressie. Techpriest (or any Mechanicus unit) soundset, with original writing and voice acting and not ripped from Dawn of War.

I mapped it onto the Muradin soundset, which doesn't have a death noise in it but I included a death quote anyway if you want to implement it somehow.

Tested and works ingame (though the warcry didn't play no matter how many times I clicked attack on something, but it's the same format as the other quotes so I'm sure it works, it's just the rarity of the warcry quotes that's the issue there - it played all the other attack quotes)

Wow, a non-rip WH40K soundset! Written & voice-acted, impressive. I'll have to remember to ping you if I ever get a Voice Acting Contest off the ground... Did you do the voicing yourself?

I think in terms of technique this is decent, though the overlay effects are very strong. There's a bit of an echo? Still, hard to complain; there's next to no-one doing what you're doing with this. : )

I did voice it myself! Though you are correct, I did put strong effects on it. Quite deliberately. Both because, well, it's a Techpriest, they'd want as little organic in their voices as possible, and also because I didn't want to recognize my own voice that much when playing my map.

I recorded my lines in audacity through my built in laptop microphone, so they weren't clean quality to start with (Gotta get that 40k jank). I downpitched and gave them slight distortion, then put them through the Dalek effect on this handy website. All the effects on that site are strong by default, but you can modify their parameters. It's very quick and convenient. I don't think I deliberately added an echo, I think it came with the effect.

Thanks so much for your compliments, and I would indeed be interested in a voice acting contest.
