sorry for requesting too much, but here it goes:

i wanna learn to use Variables, why they exist, what they do.

what is attachment points? i knida know, ,but how does it works

i wan to make an item that when u click on it, it opens a new inventory (like a backpack)

Ok Variables are sorta like custom triggers you can use them when theres something world editor doesnt have in triggers (think of Variables in science classs or something).Next attachment points say you have a custom model and you wanna put an aura around you go to special FX in trigger section and put the attach ment point,you can find a list of wacraft attachments when you download World editor unlinmited (i think).After that if it dont show up on your custom models its because it has no attachment points.And a little edition if you didnt know Triggers work like cause and effect.

a simple varible but useful is this one:

You have a Varible that is called etc. HeroVarible. And you are going to make a cinematic. The Hero is not on the map in the begiining. So how do you move the the Hero in the cinematic? You do like this:


Event:
When (you want Hero created)

Action:
Create Unit (Hero)
Set HeroVarible (your Varible) = (last created unit)
Wait 2.0 seconds
Issue Order HeroVarible to move to Region


So basicly the Varible becoms the Hero's Trigger Name. You understand?

thx clord, DeathTundra and Ryxian. the variables thingy i kinda got it, and ill take a lok at the res evil map. and about attachment points: can they BE created? u said that custom units doenst have all the points able. but ar the default units from wc RoC and TFT all of them already have attachment points?

im no noob at all at creating maps, but i want to know more about the tool im using.
are there "patches" for WE, (i know unlimited) that comes with new triggers and stuff?

AHHH, and HOW do you create a spell that does nothing, i mean NOTHING (i want to use it like a trigger spell)

what kind of tigger is resdponsible for not letting u carry more than one type of item(like, cant carry 2 weapons, so cant carry 2 short swords or 1 short sweord and 1 knife, FOR EXAMPLE)

oh, and i hope u guys help me out, cause i still have lotsa questions, i just need to remember them...

Do try to give a shot at answering your own questions before you bring them here. We're always willing to help, but not as willing to do all your work for you. And mapping is work.

The ideal spell to run triggers off of is called Channel. You can find it under Neutral Hostile>Hero abilities. It's very flexible: it can be changed to point, object, area of effect, or no target, it can show an icon or not, it can disable other abilities on the hero while casting if you so choose, it can be channeling or instant, and you can have multiple copies on one unit by changing the "Data - base order string".

hmm... man, ,i have a motive for putting too much questions at this forum.

i dont want to you guys make all the work for me.
but, the reason is that i am 17 and i work, and i go to school.(i'm not saying u guys dont do it) i got 2 PCs and only one of them has wc3 TFT. the other is at work, where i spend most of my time. while at work, i POST QUESTIONS so u guys can help me. an then, ONLY IN WEEKEDS i can go to my other house to play TFT.

i hope u guys understand, and i figured all bout triggers(well, the enough) and map creation BY MYSELF, cause im tha only of my family (along with my cousin) that likes games, ,specialy TFT.

thx for helping me, hope see u guys on bnet at the weekend.
