Good Afternoon!
I recently decided to add warcraft 3 to my laptop and wanted to do some triggering away from home,
however, the moment I try to manipulate any triggers with extensive JASS script in it I get this "unknown compile error - syntax error" on stuff that normally works:
Photos of the Errors:
Things of note:
- I'm a complete layman to JASS
- I'm using current patch
- I'm using a legal copy of warcraft 3
- My main computer is windows 7 ultimate has never had this issue, the laptop with this issue is windows 10
- I've tried fresh install, deleted registries & documents for an effective fresh install
- the Jass script causing the error is unedited and copied straight from it's download page
- using lube and calling it a disobedient avocado doesn't seem to work, I now feel silent contempt emanating from it.
- opening the map without editing any triggers runs it just fine!
- I've searched through the forums regarding this issue and they all point to a tool called Sharpcraft, I do not use this, I use the vanilla editor
- when disabling the jass script it works fine
- Disabling Jass Helper / VJass has no change
I offer my warmest gratitude, loose bits of cloth & string as payment for helping me fix this!
