You could make this file size smaller and poly count lower by using a custom texture wich I think you should try ;P

it's still pretty big

I use a model that shows me how big it will be on the villager so that it is easier to make it fit prefectly. It helps alot

Here is My Review-
GOOD-
Great looking handle.
Perfect unwrap on everything below the blade.
BAD-
Blade is 2 sided.
Texture on Blade Doesn't Look Right.
Blade is way 2 long.
OVERALL-
It's a decent model, it would be perfect if you re-did the blade. But as it stands 3/5-Decent Work. +Rep

But, look, here a minor problem with handle unwrap-
