If you use some other peoples resources in your map but don't give credits to those people (as in thanking those people for helping you by making skin x or icon y) it is like stealing those resources.

Yes, you definately should. Just because other people are, ******* idiots you don't have to be one, right?
Give credit or DON'T use other people's resources.

You mean like this:Metal_Sonic said:Or, you can be the lazy one and say thanks to all who made the models in my map, works either way.
qwerty said:i think it would be kind of troublesome to go back and search for the list of people. just post a quest for further thanks and if someone messages you, just add them to the list of thanks in your coming version. oh and dont mind me but... i prefer to see "credit" as an english word instead of a warcraft 3 term... my bad.
N00byStance said:Only one right way of giving credits:
"All custom resources used in this map and their authors:
-CoolSword.mdx & CoolSword.blp, person1
-BTNCoolIcon.blp & DISBTNCoolIcon.blp, person2
Thanks for your work!
All resources were downloaded from www.wc3sear.ch."
qwerty said:i would go back to find the person's name to give proper credit, but what if you took like 30 items from different authors? are you going to find them 1 by 1?
Metal_Sonic said:... is based on existin g Blizzard material, so I really don't care either way.
Honestly, if you're making something for credit, you shouldn't have made it at all - or even submitted it.
Metal_Sonic said:Well, I have to admit, my resources certainly aren't great, but I'm sure lots of people will find a use for them. Besides, that was months back, and I've learn a lot since then. I've begun scratch modeling as well, and it certainly takes time, especially exporting :? But, I see what you're saying, but next time you don't have say my models are bad just because were talking about credit.

just like how it was troublesome to download all those models in the first place. if youre not willing to look at who uploaded it, then you shouldnt have the model in the first place. better yet, the author shouldnt have uploaded it in the first place if his work is not going to be recognized.i think it would be kind of troublesome to go back and search for the list of people
