i think he means being able to place the campaign units within the editor on ANY map.

you need to add the campaign "mod" into your map first (File -> Dependencies); make sure Liberty.Campaign.mod (i think thats the one; story is just for cinematic props) is at the top and hey presto, you can now edit and place campaign units.
 
thanks, but when i do that, the custom units ive created disapear from the editors map and their names are changed to the base ones in the data editor (they are still there when i test the map though), know how to solve that?
