I'm completely blown away by this editor, and I can use the WE fairly well and I'm excellent with the campaign editor of SC1. So, what do I do to have effects like the uberlisk? I want to know how to make all these epic custom units, like hydralisks with dual guass rifles and marines with sieged tank shock cannons on their shoulders like missile launchers. (I'm guessing you have to make a mod, not a map for all this, right?) Or is this not even possible till the final release? Also, I noticed, like 40% of the stuff in the editor is missing. (Triggers, other stuff.) Also, how in the world do you edit the damage for a unit, shields, how much health there is, ect. Because I can't find a damn thing. Thanks in advance to all replies.

Currently, I do not know how the model system works.

All the unit health and regen stats are in the unit objects.
The model and art are in the actor objects for the units.
Weapons dictate attacks.
Turrents dictate pivitable points on a unit (not sure how they work just yet).

You are after giving a marine more weapons. These will not alter his model visually but you could for example get it so that when he attacks he attacks with both a normal marine attack and with a laser or missle every few seconds (ill try this eventually).

SC2 data is based on relations and linkage. WC3 is more direct.

Mods are a pack for object data (and possibly tirgger stuff attached to it but those come in the form of libraries). Basically, you could create a WC3 melee mod with enough custom models (provided via a pack or dozen). Then all you have to do is import the mod into a map + a few libaries and your map would be a SC2 WC3 melee map. You are after map probably as that is where you can actually add stuff and terrain.

Thanks Dr., I can understand a lot of that better now, by the way, did the editor include an AI editor like WE? I'd love to make a custom AI that actually attempts to kill you.

I'm pretty sure that turrets work so that units can fire while they are moving and/or at different angles than just straight ahead.

IE, Hellions can shoot behind them without turning around, Mothership can fire at units in any direction without turning and while moving.

no turrets is type of attacking (like tower or marine) if u choose tower turret your unit dont rotate when shooting another unit
