Hey guys, i've made a spellbook (each with unique base ids and such) and for some reason, when the ability is given to one of my units in-game, the ability is blue'd out and when i try to click it it says "Not enough mana."

The strange thing is, the spellbook ability doesn't cost any mana. This is really confusing me. Can anyone help?

I'm sure it's just something basic that i've missed but i've searched the forums and couldn't find anything similar.

This is the trigger i'm using to add the ability:

  • Gun Tech
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Finishes research
    • Conditions
      • (Researched tech-type) Equal to Gun Tech
    • Actions
      • Unit - Add Build Gun Towers to Builders[(Custom value of (Researching unit))]
Builders[] is a unit array of Tower Builders. The trigger works perfectly and adds the 'Build Gun Towers' ability/icon to the correct position next to Build (1,2) but the icon is blue'd out and it says "Not enough mana." when i click it. I've tried actually giving the builder 1 mana to see if that'd do anything and it was still blue'd out.

So i tried giving him 5000 mana and suddenly the ability worked, but when i open the spellbook, it doesn't actually use any mana. It requires some amount of mana to open it, but doesn't actually use the mana.

I don't want my tower builders to have mana as there is no reason for it, any idea why this would be doing it? The 'Build Gun Towers' ability definitely has 'Mana Cost' set to '0' =/

It is a non-item, non-hero ability and it's being used by a non-hero.

Make sure if spell inside spell book doesnt require more than your mana
IF IT DOES
Add an invisible dummy ability in it

Turns out that's all it was. It still had the default spell list from the original spellbook and i guess having those in there caused it to not work. Thanks for the help, it was confusing the hell out of me!
