I need edit a spell, the anti-magic shell, i want to use it only to the caster, so i don't want to select target, after i push the spell's activate button, like the divine shield. Is it possible, and how?
There should be 2 ways:
a) Modify the ability: use the target selection, only mark 'self' and your effect could do what you want.
If this doesn't lead to your desired result, make a dummy ability (e.g. based on your divine shield) and a trigger that detects 'starts the effect of an ability' (your dummy).
Create a dummy unit and let this dummy cast the actual ability you want.
If this is too fuzzy for you, just ask I don't bite (not before midnight )
Test map attached.
You can test whetther you get damage from the docs or the soldier when shield is activated
Just take a look at the triggers and the sutom made units... it's mostly self-explanatory. All calls of custom functions are to remove leaks; have nothing to do with the ability itself (the 2 variables in the map are only needed to catch these leaks ).
