Spell Effects

How do you make spell affects like blink (the animation) or chain lighting?(please explain in some detail or reccomend a tutorial.

the animation of the blink effect?? u mean the special effects right? just add them with the 'special effect' trigger functions

I meant if id like to make my own in 3ds max.

ahh, then i cant help u.. except i have a good way to make projectiles (make one little obhect with 1 attachment and attach a big particle on it)
