spell deactivation as trigger event

for a spell like mana shield, how do i register the deactivation as an event? "begins casting" - there's no deactivation spell
"finishes casting - mana shield" registers from the activation

you could do 2 Spells,
Spell 1: Activating Mana Shild
Spell 2: deActivating Mana Shild.
now both could be triggerd to turn shild on and of and you can register if it was deactivated.

okay - for example
the spell should do this: absorb damage into mana using the mana shield spell and on casting should display "ON" in floating text when activated and when deactivated should display "OFF" in floating text.

Uhhh, I'm kinda dry on ideas here, but here I go.

Try using a periodic check for the buff 'mana shield'. When its not there, you know they deactivated it. I would suggest a .5 second cycle for the timer
