Ok just to throw this out first, this is a MASSIVE project, so that said please don't look at the big picture, I'll be happy enough if I can get one or two of these. I will be going into a lot of detail in this request but please don't be thrown off about that, I'm trying just to throw out as much information as possible to assist in creation.
We're basically looking at some of every type of spaceship here for starters --> fighters, corvettes, freighters, assault vehicles, cruisers, scout ships, and a number capital class ships; so its quite a lot thats needed -_- As to visual reminders of what I want best bet is to take a look at the freespace gallery ( http://www.freespace2.com/gallery.cfm and http://www.volition-inc.com/fs/spacecraft.cfm - later is freespace 1) I chose freespace because particlarly the terran non-fighter or bigger ships are really close to what I want. Vasudan ships I'm more iffy, if
you can make it more buglike or biological I'll take it. One last concern is that with all these models size is a concern, the smaller you can get these things down the better, although I won't kill if you hand over a big model so don't feel too discouraged.
I also have need of some kinds of projectiles, most I can get except one variant. I need a energy beam of some sort, I assume it could be modified off the thunderlizard's thing I just can't figure how (I tried). Color doesn't really matter its just a generic beam ( http://www.freespace2.com/images/screens/vol2-4.jpg - shot of one of the freespace beams). If anyone can manage a second one that would be more used for an ability that kind of "rakes" across an area that would be wonderful but I realize the skill needed for that so I'm not holding my breath.
Of course I'll give full credit for any work turned in, and to try and give an idea that this work is going to a good cause heres my maps released so far:

Also a couple variants and non-released maps. Space Conquest is the altered melee I've always wanted to do--and if ever done it could easily blow Galatic Conquest out of the water by comparison-- but without the models its just not possible and I'm not capable of making most of these myself.

Map follows a similar format to bones and blood, being split really into 2 areas. One area is space, with a planned 10-16 planets scattered around, the other area is medium sized plots of land (not linked in any way except through space) representing the surface of each planet. Depending on space issues unit and structure size may be scalled down. Resources is one omni mineral that you mine and population which you gain in different ways depending on your race. Food remains basically the same as regular games.
Combat exists on 2 levels and two sublevels, with different races having strength in different levels. The first two levels are easy to guess, land and space combat, the first sublevel is planetary defense, ie you will be able to build structures on a planet that can fire at ships nearby the planet. The second sublevel is space platforms, you can build platforms in space, station ground troops there, and through upgrading sections you can have ground buildings on sections of the platform. Each races also has a tech building/ability, an ultimate thingy that becomes availble after extensive research and fits the general playing style of the race.
There will be heroes but the focus is more on auras and other ways to support armies, with maybe some abilities. The heroes will also have much more abilities than their max level making you choose what you want to focus your hero on. In adition to heroes there are also leaders, (items) that you can put into certain units and ships that help out your army/fleet. To add one more dynamic to things units will also *sorta* gain experience, through an evasion/critical ability that levels up as the unit accumulates kills. To avoid some of the problems in bones the map is intended to have an easier start, starting you out with some kind of a base and units. Also as a wait and see feature if getting around in space takes too long there is a planned jump node feature to add in (for those who don't know your space sci-fi just think a network of points units can quickly travel to, like waygates but more advanced).
There is planned to do as much in space as you can on ground, from space platform bases and space mining to open space and oribtal combat (some ships have the capacity to bombard a planet's surface with their cannons)
