Hi folks,

I was wondering if soundtracks had their place in RPGs.
I've always heard the size of a map was a problem (since no one would stay more than a minute in Bnet to dowload it) and consequently, smallest it could be, better it is. Besides, isn't a plus to immerse players into the RPG's world with great music? (in every epic battles there's an epic soundtrack, and the result is amazing)
So here's my problem, is it worth it?

-Thx for your advice, and sorry for my english

If you have some tracks that are well compressed to low quality you can have soundtracks, though it works better for solo rpgs because you have no limit there.

I know it kind of gets tuned out a lot but executed well, warcraft music can set the atmosphere for general "adventure" areas, having boss fights being imported music for that extra emphasis on the intensity of the battle.
