Someone "stole" "my" map

Bizarre experience, a player wanted to help edit the map (Kings and Knights), i'm not editing much lately so i told him he can pretty much do whatever he wants, he puts out an update, encrypts it, i tell him he's not allowed to encrypt it, he doesn't respond to me for 8 hours but i see him online on discord, so i tell him i'm not going to work with him because he's frustrating to work with. he pretty much tells me at this point he's going to keep editing the map and i can piss off.

part of me is glad this little map genre is progressing and being updated while i don't feel like it. but i'm disappointed i won't get proper credit nor be able to continue to build on his work as he built on mine, and others before me that edited this map.

just a strange situation and many others have helped edit before with no problem.

we're talking about a wc3 map with no money involved and a regular player base of 10-20 players. sad.

just wanted to vent not sure the point of this post really. thanks for reading.

This sucks. The least he could do was change the name so yours and his version diverges and are clearly marked as different and then he should give you credit as well. Let us know in private matters if he submits the map here and we can work something out.

Sorry you had to experience that. The hypocrisy of someone editing another persons map and then encrypting it, is mind-boggling.
People like this are the reason certain mapmakers don't share their stuff in the first place. Do they have an account here?

This is exactly true. The last thing I want for a map is to have multiple versions from multiple people.
