so whats the best way to protect a map?

is there something else we can do besides using vexorian map optimizer?

as Ralle say, creates an empty text document at your desktop and then import it into your map.After that, change its path to "war3map.wtg".
It reports an error that say a file is missing or invalid.

and very easy way to do it lol i never knew it was that easy haha
