Slow loading time...

Now I am new to these forums, but I have experianced slow loading time on this site. For example, whenever I click on a link to this site, or to a page on this site, it takes a while to upload. Is this because there are a lot of images on the site, or is the server located somewhere "far" away from the East Coast of USA?
