skining help

Aight this may make me sound like a noob but i dont care. How do i import a skin? im used to importing models by deleting the paths then restarting the game and replacing, but every time i try this with a skin, it wont work. It just deletes the model file on the unit. HELP

models each look for there own path... so if using a peasant its units\human\peasant\peasant.blp, the model looks for any skin with that path and uses it, bandits and spear throwers use the same path but just minipulate it slightly
