Skin Problem

I need Help With my this skin. .
the black edges /sides on the weapon appear in game. .why?

Mark the damn area and press del! That works in nearly every picture editing software...

Then save as tga (or some other format which supports tranperency)

Yes choose the region you want to remove and press delete.
In GIMP there will be shown a grey and white raster.

That model doesnt use alpha channels since it doesnt have a team colour support anyways. So..you whould have to use your skin on the other (same) model. because that one uses team color and alpha channels.

i used JGP, not TGA

Then use TGA instead, because JPG has no support for alpha channel at all (plus JPG makes a blurry compression each time you save the file).

...Yes. The reason .tga is used and one of many reasons Texture Artists use Photoshop, GIMP, and similar programs is because they support transparency and alpha channels.
