Skill ideas for a hero.

maybe morphing ability. morphs hovercraft into a land unit that adds a new ability maybe increased attack speed but slower movement speed.

example of morphing hero that gains ability is troll in dota. he morphs into a melee unit and gains bash ability.

some sort of that idea.
 
How about the unit flies high and becomes a flying unit for X amount of time per lvl. When you're flying you can cross over all things, and ground melee units will be unable to hurt you.
 
It needs a decent primary attack skill.

If you envision the hovercraft to be light and fast, give it a medium ranged missile that deals low damage and stuns, but does extra damage versus certain types of units or even structures. This should make your hero interesting as it requires a bit of strategy and organizing to perform well.

On the other hand if the hovercraft is lumbering slow, give it a long range cannon skill. This would turn the hovercraft into a siege-like hero that deals powerful amounts of damage if left unchecked, but would require fast moving allies to cover its retreat should it come under fire.

The others skills should be supportive types, like the ones suggested by above players.
 
like what the others have said but it should be obvious: the hovercraft flys high and then crushs to the ground, dealing damage in an area (pretty much "Jump").

it can have some kind of a powerfull cannon that pushes the hovercraft back once it fierd.

it can walk (hover) on water :D

maybe it can summon troops to come out of it.

it can make pushing wind to sourender it.
 
Or how about multiple attacks like a fast one that does low dmg, a strong one that has a slow attk rate, and a balanced one that is... well just normal dmg with normal attk rate but you can only use one at a time, and maybe put them in a spell book ;)
