Skies of Darkness




This is a RPG which can be played by up to 4 players. The idea is to prevent the Burning Legion from reaching the Dark Portal, killing Kil'Jaeden which is the last quest of the map. There are 10 main quests that will guide you through the map, also i have made about 10 optional quests that will give you additional items.
Almost everything in the map is custom and i am really thankful to the modelers on the Hive for the lovely models! I hope you enjoy my map!

    - The terrain really looks spammed and quite terrible. Some random doodads thrown here and there with some tiles in randomly placed as well. The massive size of some doodads can cause lag also

    - The gameplay is far too buggy, peculiar and unenjoyable. I mean, all enemy units are neutral hostile? They sleep at night, which means I can sneak past them easily. Also, this causes me to attack units I'm supposed to speak to in cinematics sometimes. The heroes seemed to have good skills but I couldn't manage to play 4 heroes in one time. Let's make it clear, this cannot be played multiplayer in any way due to the massive filesize

    Overall this map is not ready for an approval. It will require radical updates before reaching a decent state.

    I decided to put some more audio files in the map for coloring. Without them the size is about 95 MB, caused by the over 2200 imported model files.
     
  5. You are aware that this cannot be played on the Battle.net ? The map size limit for it is 8 MB.

    Also, is it only me or are the enemies strong like hell, no chance for the four heroes to kill even one ?

    well it's good for single player and not for co-op. The map size is 229mb you can lower quality the sounds so that it will reduce slightly.
     
  7. Yeah, but did you play it in single player ? I am not sure whether I play it right, but I am dying like a fly. The heroes are underpowered and their abilities do not really help due to their weak stats ( and I played many RPGs, so I dare to say I know how to play).

    I will upload a short gameplay video, also will remove most of the audio in order to lower the size. Ardenian, if you are talking about the first quest, you have to go around the creeps and destroy the demon gates.
     
  9. Galyov, I doubt you can reduce it to 8MB. You could think about making it a single player map, what do you think ? Then you don't need to pay attention to the map size.

    Impressive... from about 229 MB to 88.19 MB. It's approximately a decrease of 61.49%! From the screenshots, I deduce this will be a great map (but appearances and first impressions usually trick me). I'll review this as soon as possible (or ASAP as some people use to say xD).
     
  13. Is it supposed that Assassin does not get 'Ambush' ability when skilled ? Seems to me a skill point is lost then (?).

    Also, is it possible to revive a hero without Priest ? Scroll does not work.
    So, what if Priest dies ?

    Command -revive revives all dead heroes. I am working on the XP rates and mana regen, also the market items. The Ambush ability is active when Stealth is active. About the Assassin's abilities i haven't found a solution about the problem with the wasted points if a Stealth ability is inactive and you learn Cheap Shot or Ambush when last rank is already learned yet.
