Let there be more skeletons! A neat model edit so far 

I'd suggest putting some similar shoulder pads with golden edges that are already teamcolored, thus you would avoid using additional texture.
You can also make more 'live' animations with the gold bag: there you can put a bone attached to his forearm left bone and connect some of the bag's vertices with it and move it 2-3 times each sequence.
If you also try to put several logs under his left armipit or above the shoulder then the idea of harvesting lumber would look more reasonable.
