Siege ladder problems.

Ok I have a wall that is completely staight. Just a big wall using the increase by 2. And I have a ladder model and a custom destructible based on the barrel.
I have 2 problems here:
1: When I place the destructible right in front of the wall(ladder model in on an angle)the units cannot walk up or down it. They can only go on it if the ladder is placed above the ground and touching the wall. Basically I need the ladder to be touching the ground therefore making it look better and the units can go up like that.

2: In game I cannot select the ladder destructible. The player has an ability so he can kick down the ladder but the ladder cannot be selected or targeted properly.

In the object editor I have made a custom destructible based off the barrel as said above.

Here is what I have in the fields in the object editor:
Model File: Ladder model
Model Portrait: Ladder Model
Selection Size(Editor): 200
Selection Size(Game): 200
Minimum and maximum scale: 0.45 (The model itself is quite big)
Is walkable: True
Pathing Texture: Circle of Power
Pathing Texture(Dead): Ashenvale Tree etc
Sound Death: BallistaDeath

1: Please explain the platform idea. I don't think raising the terrain will help since the ladder has to be touching the wall and I think raising the terrain will prevent them being able to go onto it. I tried it and it made it look worse >.<
2: That was already turned on and setting the selection scale that high did not fix it. It only gives it a looooong health bar.
