Seasonal Butterfly-Birds

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
Bird retexturing, day whatever! This time I tried to make a butterfly for Ashenvale. I ended up making a Butterfly-looking creature, not really bird or insect, but pretty enough. When playing around with the colours I got the idea to make them in different seasonal tones. The skin is freehanded and then recolored and touched up. There are some transparency errors but they're on the very bottom and you're not gonna see it in game, it's only really visible when you zoom in on the model editor when it's unanimated. These ones look pretty good with either bats or birds, and as with my others, if you wish to use it with the bats doodad and have it be more visible, you can use BatsClear.mdx found in my bats bundle. (That file will be included in the inevitable pack for ease)

Cheers to Deepstraz for setting me on this path, I'm having fun with it.

Credit is appreciated.

Wonder if you could upscale the textures to higher quality looking/less visible pixels and if it would be noticeable.
I don't think it's that noticable in game, unless you're zoomed in close and really paying attention. I doubled the texture size and used an oil paint + sharpen combination in Photopea and it does produce a much smoother result. You can see it in the model editor of course, but when taking ingame comparison screenshots I kept getting mixed up which was which, they both pretty much look the same to me- hence the lack of labels on the second picture. I keep getting confused. I'm pretty sure that the left side of that in-game screenshot is the original and the right is upscaled, but if I hadn't known the order I took them I couldn't guess.

Nevertheless, I'm happy to offer these as an option, can't hurt.

Thanks. Yeah, from a bird's eye perspective, it's not quite noticeable especially since they move so fast.
Which is a bit of a shame since they do look a lot better I think. Maybe the bats are more visible since they stay around one place more, rather than zooming past the camera. Seems to be the case from testing it, but like you said, from a birds eye perspective it's still all the same-looking. Though I'm of the opinion that even if it's not noticed, any detail is a step closer to the world being more immersive so I'm glad you suggested it.

Thank you! I like yours, I remember I was working on a map with a Chaos race a while ago and your icons and models were very helpful.
Ah thank you, I am glad that you found something useful. If you check my thread (in my signature) you can find maybe hundread (dozens at least) stuff. Maybe something will be interested as well. :cgrin:

Also, please only address me in feminine terms, however casual :)
Ah sorry lady. I did not know that you are female. Honestly in vast majority of cases its men here, so by default I address users as male, especially in cases like this where its generic name, cant be determined person by it. I will try to remember for the next time.

Thank you for being so gracious :) I should probably put something in my bio so that everyone who sees my profile can know.
