Shading means making it darker in certain areas so that it looks more dynamic.

well shading means to add some shadows and highlights that the skin looks more realistic.
if you dont now these words... let them translate... and you know what i mean

i use gimp too and shading has nothing to do with the software you use.

Look at Jaina's original skin. Her face is darker (more black) in upper part (up). If you don't speek english check what does ,,shade" mean in your language. Shading is something like adding shade in some parts of skin (like Jaina's upper part of face).

It's pretty much obvious in this animated gif file.
I also uploaded a Photoshop PSD file just in case.

If someone still thinks that the clothes are not recolor, then there must be something very wrong with his/her eyes.

Ok, you are right only shading looks little different but i can be wrong and the runes of the coat are exchanged by pentagram

I'd just like to give some people a wake-up call, since the word recolor has not been mentioned at all in this skin comment thread. =P


The idea is interesting (imo), but I don't see any effort on this skin besides the pentagrams and the black lines on her skin.

I dont know how to take a screen shot XD bwah yes i changed alot of things on this skin , took like 35 minutes to change. Well i think i know what shading mean but how can i do that XD adding black n white to some place? Like the hair/face, I mean i dont know where to put shadows :O Bwah its not a Imo idea XD loll its just a skin.. nyway it was my first so its normal that its not perfect!!! Ima try to fix it! But tell me where should i add shadow XD i dont know where, THE FACE? Cauz when i see hte skin, it look nice exept the hair/face... nyway ima try Thanks all

It looks nice except for the hair and face because those are the parts you didn't recolour.

To shade the face, add shading where shadows would be made from a light shining above the body. If you don't understand any of what I just said, look at some skinning tutorials in the Tutorials section of this site.
