Those are incredibly basic weapons, I don't see why you'd need permission from someone to make an icon for a spiked club - I'd think in this situation it'd be fine for someone to make icons for the weapons without permission if it's not via screen shot of the weapon (yeah the icons designated for the model, but really the model is such a simple idea I'm sure someone probably already has made an icon that would fit in this situation anyways)
I think it's only when you want to connect the icon to the model in resource section. I mean, it's nonsense to ask someones permission to create an icon.
If you do an freehand icon than it should be okay.
But if you do such nooby icons like me (screenshot edits of the model) you should ask the creator of the model first.
