Rocks (Model 3) by Ballistic

Part three of a set of three rock models created by me for my upcoming project.
Modeled in 3DS Max 2010, and exported with NeoDex.

To set the texture to the correct path, simply remove the
war3mapimported/ from the name of the texture
war3campimported/ if imported into a campaign.
All 3 of my rock models use the same texture. You only need to import it once.

BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE FILESIZE, CONSIDER THIS!
The actual rock models are about 20-60 kilobytes each. The texture is 1 megabyte. You only need to import it ONCE to use all THREE rock models. If you are making a highly compressed multiplayer map for use on Bnet, this is NOT for you. This is for people making single player maps and campaigns and terraining.

1 megabyte is too fucking huge for a texture no matter how many models use it. The texture dimensions should not be larger than 512x512, and for a model of this type preferably 256x256. Regardless of what size your texture is though i suspect you simply haven't compressed it enough when converting to .blp (or even worse, used the .blp you get when exporting from 3ds max - they tend to become huge).
 
Let me explain my reasoning. Everything looks crappy with a 256 x 256 texture. 512 x 512 was to pixelated for this particular wrap.
The texture I used is 1024 x 1024. I compressed it to 60% quality with blp lab. It's not too huge. I see no reason for it being too huge. Is this going to cause lag? No. I have a campaign full of models with texture like this and have no lag on a middle of the line machine I got four years ago.
Is it going to take too long to download? Unless you have dial-up, no. Its one megabyte, that is almost nothing nowadays.
I'm not making cartoon models, so I cannot use tiny textures. This is a real texture model meant to be used with other real texture models. Not all models have to fit into the cartoon category. I don't see how it's to big.
Sorry for ranting.
