why not just learn how to do basic simple icons ites very simple...
just get photoshop and then open ur image... make a new image size 64x64 or is it 32x32 then make it 24 bpm i thin kit is :S

You sure you should be making a map? With all the requests and such you're making, it sounds like you don't know the first thing about making a map.

Put off your project for now and just mess with the editor, best advice I can give. But if you're so determined, just tinker with it.

The only thing you need to make it is wc3viewer, paint, and a border to make one it's very easy xD
You don't even need photoshop
