Hello there fellow modders. I'm searching for a skinner who would like to create some models with me. I'm quite good with scrap modeling, Norinrad teaches me how to animate models so i think i would be a good support for the skinners out there. The potential candidate should have atleast a bit knowlenge about skinning.
Models i want to create :

I'm also open for new ideas.

Yay it would be great! Now 2 questions which model do you want to do ( if they are not on the list i will do it them just so). Do you have any preferences how they should look like?

Just pick whatever model you would like to do! I'm not too fussed when it comes to skinning Warcraft 3 stuff ^^ Whatever we do, I'll try my best to make it look like one of the pics in the links you posted :)

If I could throw a piece of advice... Shouldn't you just allow CloudWolf to draw the detailed parts of the skin as they are needed and then adjust the model and its UV mapping to it? Otherwise wrap issues can arouse which re not pleasant. Just saying.

Easily. He draws a skin the way you want it, then you make the model and wrap the texture around it.

Because if he makes a skin for some asymmetric character (for example Kilrogg Deadeye) he'll face difficulties to reskin an existing Blizzard model. Or, if you make some part of the model just one rectangle that uses a small part of the texture, he'll not be able to put much detail into it.

So... the parts you want detailed, leave it to him first and then adjust the model to the skin.

... Whatever, it's just an advice. Good luck with reskinning Arthas.

And, Debode, why should it not work, UV mapping edits anyone?

JokeMaster, you're not making models from scratch, you're model-editing them. Making models from scratch meaning making them from nothing; making new meshes. Now, with that being said, NhazUl's proposal wont work since JokeMaster is basing his models on existing Blizzard meshes. So of course, CloudWolf will have to modify existing textures.

I sure do hope you two will post WIPs of your work in this thread though.

Debode I started to learn to make them from scratch ( previously i thought that was meaning to combine parts of other or so, so tkanks for the info), but mostly ill be just editing the already existing ones. I don't know why byt my Turalyon proggres isn't going so fast as i wanted...

no worries :D

I've made some progress on the skin as well :) It's definitely one of the more detailed skins I've done xD

I'll post some WIP's when I get a little further down the line :)

It's pretty much done now :)

@Jokemaster, I was thinking this alliance armour could be used for a lot of the alliance models you mentioned :)
