Hello, my friend is currently working on a procedural generation project and he's having an issue with his method of generating water decorations.

He needs a water decoration tile model that - when highlighted by an area of effect spell - does not get colorized when selected. He can't dynamically generate doodads and has to use a dummy unit to dynamically generate decorations.

One idea that he had was to utilize a model similar to that of a Ziggurat projectile, where it's simply a particle effect tied to an invisible particle emitter model. Unfortunately he doesn't know how to assemble a model to do that, or whether this idea is even feasible or possible.
