One Axis billboarding?

Basically i want to make a laser beam, but instead of making it a cylinder, i want to make it a plane with a bone that's "Y" billboarded, i realize there "Y Billboard lock" for bones, but it doesn't seem to work, any ideas?

Magos displays it like fuck. It should work in game.

But, if your beam shoots forward, you must lock it on the X axis.
