Maybe they could pick up a hidden item, or even an item that was left on a corpse, like a ring of defense or something. Sometimes, people have valuable things without knowing it.

huh? Are you referring to items such as the ones hidden in special units around the campaign already? If so, then its not exactly what I mean, but a little like that.
