If strange adverts are appearing it could be your system is infected with malware. I advise performing a scan as often such malware will come bundled with other more harmful but less noticeable features like key loggers or zombification stuff.
It could also be some kind of browser plugin that was installed along with some legitimate software because you did not carefully follow the install process (they like to default you to install all kinds of stuff you do not want). In such a case it will appear in your installed programs list and you can just uninstall it.
