Please help, No idea what to do to reduce my map size at this point.

-73 Custom units
-No JASS
-About 75 triggers
-128x128
-A few colored words
-Only 2 imported things
-30 Custom abilities
-A few trees and doodads
-Not much else

The size is 4.4mb -_-

Help?

Well, start with the basics: Pitzermike's Widgetizer and Vexorian's Optimizer. Those two alone will probably give you a huge size decrease.

If your map is still too big, try opening it up with RMPQEx and seeing what the biggest files inside it are. If you are using a custom loadscreen, there's a good chance that is the problem. If you see any large images, you could try to reduce the quality or otherwise compress them. You could also use Guesst's MDX Squisher on the custom models to save a few kb.

I have a ton of custom triggers in my map, and yet the scripts file is only 26kb after optimization and compression.

By comparison, the texture for the Spanish Conquistador model alone is 151kb

Actually, I've been thinking of attempting to optimize those textures a bit. Does anyone know a good way?

By setting the converter to convert the image using color compressions instead of jpeg compression. Generally filesize is larger but you do not suffer from artifacts and it compresses better in the MPQ.

Be aware that many converts were written by idiots or clearless people and do not support this feature or even inform you that it exists. For 3D units, I would believe that JPEG compression probably is best as you are limated to atmost 256 colours.
