My Newest Hero

Hey guys, excuse me if this is the wrong forum - I usually only post in the triggers and scripts section.

I just made my newest hero and I was wondering if I should bother working on this map more and/or posting it in the map database.

Check it out if you have a couple minutes -

Gotta give you credit for the smoothness and general polish on the jumps and throwback skills.

As for if you should continue it? depends really, what do you want out of it in the end? The video doesnt really show how far you could take the gameplay with such a skillset.

If I misunderstood the entire point of this, and this is just a test map for a custom hero then its solid as it is.

Thank you, I was quite happy with it so it's nice to hear.

I would like to make it a real game. Just an arena of sweet heroes, but my question is would anyone actually play that? Maybe I should better just submit what I have so far as a set of abilities.

I had Blade Artist in mind when I made this -

Nope. You did just what I hoped for. I kind of made this just because, and I was curious what people had to say.

A very physical/manual styled combat arena has been made a few times before, however not many of them are very good. If you can put your own distinct style to it its unique enough as it is.

Like I said previously, the polish on the knockbacks is very nicely done. So a smooth, flowing combat style could be something you could aim for.

As for submitting it as it is, users in THW dont really check back a map after a 1 or 2 times. Hence leaving a good first impression and thus requiring a polished, completed map seems to be a better idea.

When you say combat arenas like this have been made before, what do you have in mind?

Blade Artist and warlocks are kind of the only things that come to mind for me.

I cant quote any names off the top of my head right now, but there were a few random ones I played years ago on Bnet. But none were any good, so its no big deal.
