I just started to make icons and this is the result.

Please give me some comments and advice.

The "effect(shockwave?)" around the arrows looks plain.
I don't know how you should fix it, but someone else must be able to help you!

I think its shading problem. Shading is too weak. so its plane, or too much 2d.
Make arrows more 3d look like. Better shading.

It looks awesome as a thumbnail, but a little less as an icon. D=

Try defining the separation of the arrowhead and the arrow's stick, that should make it look better. (Darken that area)

DO you use button manager to convert it into an icon?
Try to add a little more contrast!

I was also able, to sharpen the Icon.
