Simple question: How do I modify a hero attribute lower than 1? Using the GUI function "Modify Hero Attribute" won't bring them to 0 or a negative number through subtraction or directly setting the attribute to 0/-.

impossible. it will crash

yeah it's possible but not for long.. because it may crash.. either when the unit dies (not most of the time) or some other stat manipulation.. i guess

usually when the stat is below the hero's default stats of hp/dmg/mp whatsoever set through the object editor.. it will crash.. but not that 100% to happen though

and negatives usually happen through fail math or force change of stat through the natives..

i have tried this one.. but not for too long..

I played with negative attribute in 30 minutes without crash.
Negative STR: Unit die after cast skill, attack, be attacked...
Negative AGI: Really slow attack, but it is still able to attack.
Negative INT: Mana always be 0/0
Negative main attribute: Damage 0 ~ 0

You need to allow negative values in
File --> Preferences

Then before you double-click what you want push shift then open it.

Type in -1 or w/e and go OK or w/e it is, then it will say -1 or w/e it is.

Solved or solved?

(I can't say this will make it not crash.)

It's already solved. And what you described only works for the object editor.
