Hey there!

Im completely new here, never done anything to mod WCIII and I just dusted of the game itself. However, as someone who has played it hundred times before, I found myself some very cool models of some of the main characters and I was wondering if there was a way how to import these models into the vanilla campaign? (and tft as well).

This is purely just for my own enjoyment. Would something like this possible? If so, could someone please take me through, step by step? I realize this must be a pain, but if someone could do this, Id name my next dog after ya :p

Cheers

I have no idea how to do this or if it's even possible but I think you might enjoy this - 2P campaign

2 ways of doing that.

If you don't have many things to change :
Download the model, put it into your Warcraft III folder and rename it with the unit's base model name.
For example, Arthas's model file is "Arthas.mdx" and the archmage's model file is "HeroArchMage.mdx". Those filenames can be got by opening the WorldEditor's Object editor and look for the unit's model file path.
If the model has a portrait file, add "_portrait" to its name, such as "Arthas_portrait.mdx".
The voices can be edited that way too but there are more files.

If you wanna change a lot of things :
Download a MPQ Browser (such as MPQMaster), open your war3Patch.mpq file with it (it's in your W3 folder) and extract the file "Units\UnitUI.slk".
That slk file can be spreadsheet ; it can be opened with Excel or others. The model's file path is in the column "file" and you can change the datas here. You can also edit some other fields if you want.
Once you have edited that file to your convenience, you have to put it in your W3 folder, keeping its name "UnitsUI.slk". You can put your custom models in a custom folder (so you have to specify it in the UnitUI's fields, such as writting "CustomFolder\CustomArthasModel" in a "file" field) so you don't put too much files directly in your W3 folder.

Hope you understand. That's not the easiest thing to do .

I downloaded the 2Campaign - is there a possibility to play it singleplayer? Also, it doesnt seem to be working for some reason. When I try to start the map via tft custom battle the menu just goes away for a sec and then comes back and the map isnt really starting.

EDIT: @Tirlititi I tried that first method, didnt work - at least there was no change in the campaign (tried it with Arthas); now, Im tinkering with the world editor - I extracted the whole campaign and Im trying to import the model in, so far its working but the maps arent in "a campaign" now, so Im trying to create "my own", so the chapters would follow each other, but all the scripts are broken, nothing works - except the voices, thank god for that

The map isn't meant to be played alone, hence the name 2 player campaign. It's a way for you to play the campaign with a friend over Bnet, garena, hamachi or whatever else you choose. If you start it up with 2 people, it should work perfectly.
