I am new in this forums, and I would like to get some advice.

I am trying to make a map with new models and animations for those models. I did some tests with some simple models I made in Maya and then export them as OBJ, and finally converting them to MDX, unfortunately I had some problems with them. (In the viewer some polygons were missing, and when imported to the map, model didn't show up....just a red/white box)

Any reason why??

Is it possible to use Maya... or do I need to get 3DS max?

And if it is possible, any advice on how to import them safely, including the animations?

If someone have worked with maya for any model, or anyone else can help me with these, I really appreciate it.

Sorry If I posted in the wrong forums....im not sure.

I believe there is a complicated process of importing Maya models into Max and then into mdx format, but it's not worth it. Get Max 5 and the Art Tools.
