I didn't know we where in a comptetition.
About the energy part I was going for the feeling of a light emitting crystal. Though I can try the lightningball aswell.

Well, we are not, I was just working on the same model. And the lightning ball is my favorite texture, y'know.

I tried lightning ball on this model and it looks like crap imo. It didn't look verry magical anymore. More like a tool of destruction. I tried star textures aswell but I didn't like them either. It looks more natural this way.
