max gold help

ok in my map there the max amount of gold is 250, using gameplay constants (i think thats what its called) i set the max gold to 250, but still (using triggers) i can get more then 250, is there any way to stop this?

cant you just do

Events
Player gold > 250
Actions
Set Player Gold 250
(optional) - Display error Message - You have reached gold limit.

i would prefer NOT to do that idea, then the message would played to often, i will try that, but in have seen what i want in other maps

then simply do the trigger without the error mesage
instead at the begining of the map make a message saying the max gold is 250 in red or something
