So, I love making maps (not to post anywhere, just for myself) but I can't download my own custom content. My computers difficult, and I probably could if i really tried, but it would require quite a bit of effort. So, I have a request. I want to make a campaign using some of the current races and random other races, but I can't. Could somebody be a glorious angel of awesomeness and put a ton of models and skins on a map and post it for me??? :D I can download maps with custom content, but i can't find my own stuff and put it on a map. My only pickiness is that i like the warcraft style and i'd like stuff that looks like it fits. Orc archers, dark elves, more naga, mythological creatures, more treants, dwarves, etc.

I will love you forever if you do this!!! <3 <3 <3

I'm sorry, let me explain better. I can download any map, regardless of how much custom skins or models or whatever it has. But I can't download a skin or model and put it on a map myself. I've gone through dozens of how-tos and tutorials, but my computer just doesn't work with me. This is just way easier than all that hassel.

Did you go try the import (f12) in world editor? Sometimes they don't show up in the game, you will have to set the correct path(s) of all the files then save and close out world editor. When you re-open the map they should work.
Yes, i have. The main issue is that zipped model and skin files that are downloaded onto my computer get messed up whenever I save them, and the unzipping programs i have refuse to read them as zipped files. Its very confusing and I'm not a computer person, so all the effort to solve the problem with no results has left me kind of worn out.

Well i'm kind of short on info on your problem not knowing if your using a PC or mac or even what program your using to unzip the files, but here's a program that works for me http://www.win-rar.com/download.html. You can download it for either PC or mac, so it shouldn't be a problem to get, hope this works for you!
Thank you very much! I'll try it right away and let you know how it goes! :D

Oh, okay. I'm new to hive, so thanks for the heads up. Skins like Night Elf Artisan and Dwarf Rune Master worked (from this site) But all the others i loaded from this site didn't extract with a model file and portrait file, just a blp texture file. A few of the ones i extracted that only had the blp were NagaPredatorby67chrome, RootElemental, BloodElfDragonhawk, and Shivarranby67chrome.

Ok well the thing is that all these files are skins, they are not models and will not have portraits. Skins cover the already existing skin for a specific model and can be replaced by setting the proper file path in the import manager.

Naga Predator - Textures\WyvernRider.blp
Root Elemental - units\creeps\facelessone\facelessone.blp
Blood Elf Dragon Hawk - units\Human\BloodElfDragonHawk\BloodElfDragonhawk.blp
Shivarran - Units\Naga\NagaSiren\NagaSiren.blp

When you download and unzip the folder, always check and read the "ReadMe.txt" file, it should tell you the correct path you want to set it to.

Ah... I see. That makes sense. But what about some of these models that i tried and didn't work? RuneCaster, NagaSorcerer, and a few others. With models you have to use the blp, model, and portrait, right? I used all three, saved the map, exited, reopened it, and they still didn't work.

Did you change the (for example we will say RuneCaster.blp) Runecaster.blp file path from warcraft3import\RuneCaster.blp to textures\Runecaster.blp? It's very important to do this otherwise the models most likely won't work. With models, the portraits are not a must but do make the game look better.

In tutorials they will tell you to change the model file path by removing the "warcraft3import\" text so you would just have RuneCaster.mdx left over, but I found this sometimes causes problems. I would recomend leaving the models and portrait files alone once imported.
