I was just wondering what people thought about a rpg or an orpg about LOTR. I finished about 50% of the terrain for the map about 2 years ago, and just never got around to finishing it. I'm thinking about restarting it, but I would like some input. You can choose from 3 races, elf, human dwarf, each with its own start location, and either defeat sauron by fulfilling a series of quests to assist the fellowship, or figure out another way to stop him.

oh, its already been done befor? Damn. It was going to be that when you chose your race, you then choose what your class was, Archer, Mage or Fighter. I was planning to use spell books to hold the spells, but have it so you can buy the skills you want. So, when you level 1, if you chose a Human Fighter, you can pick from three different spells, and add them to your spell book. Level Cap would be 50, but it could be increased, and a save/load system would be implemented. I was also going to add another spell book which would contain three weapon tryes you can use. For example, Mages can use Staffs, Wands or daggers. As you get more levels with that weapon, your expertise for that weapon increases and the chance to have a special ability increases.

Lol hi there.

And even worse, most of them consisted of boring storyline, boring spells, boring terrains... perhaps mr Maedh would make a difference?

There's been one done before but I believe it wasn't a Save/Load , I play LOTRo On a daily basis so I have a few ideas , for example when you choose a fighter you can then (level 20/30) pick a Champion or a Captain and start with the same items but on level 1 and so on so you won't get bored from leveling for ages with a fighter and git,

For example... My Avengers ORPG (Project 15% Fin) Will have only 2 Races but about 3 Classes Beginning 6 Classes Later 12 Classes at level 50

I would try in your position to gather a team to make it I would love to play it
