Lock Map

Its called map protection. Its used by a map's creator to protect the map's reputation, and to prevent people from editing the map, then releasing it on the internet and claiming it as their own.

There are many types of working map protections out there. Here's one of my favourite

WARNING: Make a copy of your map before you 'protect' it. It will render the map unopenable in the Editor, even by you!

It's called a map optimizer, it optimizes the map's script making the file size smaller and it can remove WE-only data to make it crash when opened to protect from scumbag map stealers.
Yes, Vexorian's is the best, I would say. Just tick every box that you can see on the main program.
As above, save the optimized version as <YourMapName> (Protected) or (Prot) to allow you to see protected and unprotected map versions.

I have downloaded a few maps before and noticed I cannot open them up in world editor. I would like to know how I can do this to my own map to avoid people editing it.

so in short. How can you lock your map?
its called "Map Protector" and you can download one in the tools section on hive.
Don't forget to make a deprotected copy of your map...
I had my wc3 with all maps on a USB Card and it broke
so don't put it on a USB Card...

Also you need to use the
edit.gif
button instead of double posting.
