Is it just me getting lag spikes and low fps?I play the entire game smooth but then at some points the framerate goes down and I get lag spike So yeah,I was wondering if any of you get this as well and or do you know a soloution.I doubt its due to my settings since as I said I play the game very smooth,only at some points.

can you elaborate this a bit more? Because I can think of serveral reasons for lag spikes...

How often did this happen recently (in X from the Y last games you played)?
Does it appear to be at distinct times of the day? (e.g. around 6 - 8 p.m.?)
Can you maybe think of something the 'some points' where you get lag spikes,
have in common, e.g. in all the games you got the lag spikes you or someone
else played a specific hero? Or is it always on the same map?

No,its completely random

did you try to play on lower settings than your current? Do you still get the lag spikes then?

Are the lag spikes persistent? What I mean is, once they start, do they stay all the time until the game is over, or do they come and go (e.g. 3 sec laggy --> 2 min ok --> 3 sec. laggy --> 2 min ok and so on...)?

Do the lag spikes occur after a given game time? (e.g. once the match gets past 20 min of lengh)

Sounds like your computer is overheating. If it is a laptop this is almost certainly the case.

If this is the case try applying a 30 fps cap to the game.
Open -> Documents\Heroes of the Storm\Variables.txt -> use notepad or wordpad
Add The following lines...
Code:
frameratecap=30
frameratecapglue=30
These should limit frame rate to the specified 30. I am unsure though as these are SC2 Heart of the Swarm options and so may or may not have been removed in Legacy of the Void (aka same engine as Heroes of the Storm).

You could also try enabling vertical sync which will at least cap the game to the display refresh rate. However when I tried that there was a lot of input lag (unplayable) but that was a few versions ago.

Without a frame cap the computer runs at full speed trying to render frames. This uses up as many resources as possible and so produces as much heat as possible. By forcing a cap to the frame rate it does not use up all system resources it can so produces less heat. When a CPU or GPU runs past a manufacture specified temperature it starts to throttle back performance so that it still works, but no longer gets any hotter. When throttling happens performance will shoot through the floor (low FPS, lag, unplayable etc). Laptops (and badly built desktops but those are few) are notorious for having insufficient cooling for their power usage so are most prone to this problem. Additionally a rise of 10-20 degrees in ambient temperature can also cause previously sufficient cooling to no longer be able to cope.
