Making a custom, melee map, how do I make my workers build campaign structures and how do I recruit campaign units? I can place any unit or building but can't find a way to recruit or build them in-game.
Huh? Sorry I might be stupid but I don't see anything like that. In Object Editor I only see all the units/buildings listed but nothing in relation to being able to train/build them.Object editor -> unit trained/structures built fields?
He skiped one step. Those fields are shown in the bigger right window of the Object Editor.Huh? Sorry I might be stupid but I don't see anything like that. In Object Editor I only see all the units/buildings listed but nothing in relation to being able to train/build them.
Got it, thanks a lot! Can you tell me how to get AI to build those structures and recruit custom/campaign heroes? He skiped one step. Those fields are shown in the bigger right window of the Object Editor.
If you select a unit, like a Peon, it will show you a list of fields in the right window. He was talking about fields labeled "Units Trained" and "Structures Built"
I figured but I have no idea how to do it T_T I replaced melee heroes with campaign heroes but the AI won't even train them. They also won't train any units in the buildings that I previously edited. I can't find corresponding tab/window for thisThose are done via AI Editor (the green icon).
I exported Object Data and imported it to AI editor but have no idea how to configure it now. Nothing new showed up and I'm stuckAI must be created manually to respond to your custom units or generally any unit outside of it's default melee list.
AI Editor also requires you to import object data from your object editor to show custom units properly.
But the sole purpose of making this map was to use campaign characters for all the players T_TAI is very difficult to work with. I'd suggest not worrying about the computer.
No, I'm trying to make a custom (melee?) map, not a campaign. Just a regular skirmish ma, but allowing players (and AI) to use some of the campaign units/buildingsOk, I'm assuming you're making a single player campaign with the campaign editor?
1) Don't use the object editor. Instead use the campaign object editor. That way you don't have to copy object data per map.
2) Make sure the map you're editing is added to the campaign.
3) Export the campaign object data from the campaign object editor, instead of from the object editor.
