Technically, most custom campaigns (like this one) that are available on this site can be playable on either previous or the latest patch of Warcraft III.
Some of them can be bugged and are meant to be stable on specific versions.
For the case of the latest patch (the one you installed from Battle.net), playing on old graphics (SD mode) is the best way if you don't tolerate bugs.
Campaigns like Chronicles of the Second War and Warcraft III: Re-Reforged can only be playable on new graphics (HD mode).
You can test that campaign out to see if it works on SD mode.

I'm sure it works just fine in SD mode, just that based on the map description info it looked like it might be optimized for HD. if it's not a big difference like tulee said than I will just go ahead with sd anyways.
