Is it possible to transfer whole custom units?

I found a custom map with custom hero units and custom skills I really like, I was wondering if it's possible to import them to a different map?

If so I would love if someone can point me in the direction on how to do so?
Today is my day off from work so I have a good amount of time.

If it matters the hero units I want are from a hero arena battle style map I want to move them to a regular warcraft map where you just gather resources and build etc. I think that's called a melee style map?
 
You can export the maps unit data by clicking the Export option in the Object Editor menu. However, importing will erase all your unit data.

Alternatively you can just press CNTRL + C in the Object Editor when the unit is highlighted (to copy it).

Then, open your map and press CNTRL + V inside the Object Editor to paste the unit.

You may have to do the same thing for skills.

thanks for the reply, I'm a bit new to this is there anything else I must copy/change over in order for it to work properly?
for example the map the custom hero is coming from they level way past 10.. in a standard map the level cap is 10

Well if there are custom abilities you shuold copy all the triggers and variables (after you copied the object editor data). You should find it in the trigger editor File>Export all trigger data if i remeber correctly. If you use the Ctrl+C , Ctrl+V method suggested by TriggerHappy make sure you checked the create unknown variables option in the world editor Preferences>General

You can set the maximum hero level in the Advanced > Gameplay Constants tab in your World Editor menu.

Doesn't have anything to do with the object editor.
