is it possible to do animated icons?

Hope this is the right place for this thread, if its not i'm, sorry.

This has been bugging me for awhile because theres animated loading screens and thos use basically a code to flip through the diffrent layers i was wondering if it would be possible to do that with a icon. p.s. Yes i know its a stupid question but i cant stop wondering xP

Icons have NO model or any mdl data, loading screens are models with mdl data obviously. so the answer is no.

Well, if you constantly cycle through multiple abilities, you could have the illusion of an animated icon. If you're really willing to lose a few hundred kilobytes.

ah well i was just wondering if you could then i just thought a few minutes ago like werewulf said loading screens had a .mdl.
