I am having trouble importing this model and all others too:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/resource.php?t=49833

I was directed here by this tutorial:
http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/models.php?id=yn9wf6&p=tutorial_import

I set the model to a Paladin and selected Import on the model file but when i clicked "OK" and went back in the file switched from Import to Custom and changed from an .mdx to an .mdl file. When I place it on the map, it is displayed as a green checkered box and proceeds to tell me that it was unable to find the file. Is the file switch whats wrong? If so, how can I fix it?

WE's import Manager may sometimes change .mdx to .mdl. That's nothing to worry about. What you need to make sure to do is to import the model and its four associated texture files (skins).

After importing each skin, double click them and check the box "Use custom path." Set each skin's custom path exactly as indicated on the web page:

Import the skins to the following paths:
Textures\Gmain.blp
Textures\Gskin.blp
Textures\GShoulder.blp
Textures\GSbody.blp

Save the map, exit WE, restart it and test the map in Warcraft III.

How to Import Custom Models provides additional detailed instructions.
